GPS® III Platelet Concentration System
Quality and Simplicity Redefined
Whole blood contains several components that can be concentrated
during centrifugation to form a buffy coat layer or leukocyte-rich
platelet-rich plasma
(L-PRP).*
By utilizing the GPS III Platelet Concentration System, the patient’s own platelets can be separated into a highly concentrated formula. The PRP can be mixed with autograft or allograft bone prior to application at an orthopedic surgical site.
*The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) prepared by this device has not been evaluated for any clinical indications. The safety and effectiveness of this device for in vivo indications for use, such as bone healing and hemostasis, have not been established.

System Features
With the GPS III System, a fixed volume (10% of starting volume) of
PRP is processed that will contain over 90% of the available
platelets.1
Because of the GPS III System’s
automated separation mechanism, a consistent platelet concentrate is
attainable each and every time.
Benefits
Over 90% Platelet Recovery
- From a small volume of the patient’s own blood taken at the point of care, the GPS III System efficiently captures the majority of the patient’s platelets. The proprietary, finely tuned slanted buoy mechanism captures up to 90% of the available platelets.1
Automated Platelet Collection
- Because of the system’s automated separation mechanism, a consistent platelet concentrate is attainable each and every time.
User-Friendly
- The blood components are separated into compartments for easy retrieval through the designated ports. The system has a processing time of 15 minutes.
Volume Flexibility
- The GPS III System offers three volume options to meet different clinical need – for 3 cc/ 6 cc or 12 cc platelet concentration volume.
