Ankle Fix System 4.0

Zimmer Biomet offers an innovative lateral ankle fusion plate with important benefits for the surgeon and ankle fusion patient. The Normed legacy Ankle Fix System is a unique titanium osteosynthesis system capable of both tibiotalar fusion and tibiotalocalcaneal fusion. The special anatomic plate design is offered in a left or right plate and conforms to the distal tibia, lateral talar dome, and posterior facet of the calcaneus, allowing 4.0 mm locking screws to be strategically placed within the talus and calcaneus.

An external compression/distraction device makes using the system easier. It utilizes an oval gliding hole in the plate to allow for both compression and distraction during the procedure. The joint may be distracted to prepare and decorticate the joint surfaces. Then manual controlled compression can be applied to allow compression across the arthrodesis site. This unique device can allow compression across both joints in a TTC fusion procedure.

A self-contained instrument set includes both 2.7 mm and 3.5 mm drills in order to accommodate for harder bone in the tibia. The 4.0 mm locking and standard screws may allow for more solid fixation through the arthrodesis site.
